The Vision

Saint George’s Haberdashery was established in 2019 by Brandan, with the goal of bringing his clients affordable, high-quality menswear. In 2023, we underwent an expansion that saw Spencer join our team. Together, our styling team has a combined 10+ years in the fashion industry. It is our vision to provide the people of Ottawa with quality garments that suit their bodies, and style, and will last them for years to come.

The Brand

“Fair St. George, inspire us”

We took, for our patron, Saint George, as a nod both to the classic tailoring of England’s greatest century and to the enormous cultural achievements of that fair and sceptered isle.  In a world of sunny ways and a throwaway culture, the old way and timeless quality are—we think—still best.  Our garments are designed in Canada and crafted by some of the world’s most skilled tailors.  The old way of doing things takes time and must support the artisans who craft the garments.  Saint George’s quality craftsmanship furnishes you with garments that are comfortable, garments of unparalleled quality, and garments that will stand the test of time.

That we are a Haberdashery is our homage to classic American Ivy style—a style which has been—for the most part—left behind by a forgetful zeitgeist.  In the mid- to late-twentieth century, American houses of style paved the way for classical American menswear.  North American wardrobe mainstays were pioneered by these trailblazers, including the gold-button navy blazer, the striped repp tie, the silk knit tie, the seersucker suit, the madras summer jacket, and the penny loafer.

Saint George’s Haberdashery takes inspiration from both classic English tailoring and American Ivy style to offer Canadians something timeless yet new, something distinctly Canadian.
